Dan Rizzie (American, b. 1951) Arcade, 1984 Mixed media on panel 31 x 24 inches (78.7 x 61.0 cm) Signed, dated, and titled on the reverse: "Arcade" / Dan Rizzie / 1984 PROVENANCE: Carpenter and Hochman Gallery, Dallas; Private collection. This three dimensional assemblage piece by Dan Rizzie exemplifies his signature style, characterized by his ongoing incorporation of three-dimensional elements. Throughout his career, he has been a darling of the Texas art community, and has exhibited at The McKinney Avenue Contemporary, the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, the Dallas Museum of Art, and the Austin Museum of Art. Rizzie's work has also become a global phenomenon with pieces exhibited at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Royal Academy of Arts in London. Rizzie creates images of geometric abstraction and pieces that focus around symbols from his travels abroad as a child, particularly from his time in India.
