A musical assembly: lined canvas. One instance of very minor frame abrasion at left edge in lower left corner. Slight yellowing to the varnish layer. Finely patterned craquelure. A very few scattered small dots of discolored accretion. Not examined out of frame due to size. Under UV: varnish fluoresces green unevenly. Two apparent campaigns of restoration, visible above and below the varnish layer, respectively. Both campaigns appear as scattered finely applied dots and dashes of retouching, primarily addressing craquelure in the background and strengthening the outlines of some figures. Two more notable instances of retouching to the central female figure, affecting her proper right knee and the center of the top of her head. Gentlemen at table: lined canvas. A few scattered instances of minor frame abrasion near edges. Slight yellowing to the varnish layer. Finely patterned craquelure. Vertical stretcher bar mark very faintly visible under raking light upon close inspection. A very few small dots of discolored accretion in lower right corner. Not examined out of frame due to size. Under UV: varnish fluoresces green unevenly. One campaign of restoration appears beneath the varnish layer, presenting as finely applied dots and dashes of retouching to address scattered craquelure. Aforementioned dots of accretion in lower right corner fluoresce. Framed Dimensions 38.5 X 33.5 X 3.25 Inches
