NOTE: As the label on the sculpture suggests, this figure is part of Group of Ten, a set of ten burlap figures, created in the 1980s, which later were used by the artist as models for bronze casts with the same title (currently on display at Davidson College, North Carolina). The lot is accompanied by a photocopy of a pamphlet with a dedication from the artist to Dick Polich: "To Dick Polich with many thanks and in souvenir [of] the 'CROWD' born in Polich Art Works -- Magdalena Abakanowicz, 25 V 2000." Presents very well. Figure stands independently as it should. A few errant fibers caught on some rough edges of burlap. Dirt and dust on underside of feet. Otherwise, there appear to be no major condition issues affecting the work.
