The Collection of Sarah Warren Hoffman PROVENANCE: From the artist; Michael Hoffman, first executive director of Aperture and Cofounder (with Hazel Strand) of the Paul Strand Archive; By bequest to his daughter Sarah Warren Hoffman. Strand's vintage prints from the 1920s tend to be warmer in tone. However, prints from the 1940s, including those for Strand's show at The Museum of Modern Art, New York in 1945, including this one, have a cooler, more neutral appearance. Overall excellent condition. Slight loss to the bottom right corner. A very few indentations visible in raking light and some edge chipping. Sheet is flush mount to a board and hinged to a window mat, framed under 19 x 16 inches.
