Peter Basch (German, 1921-2004) Group of 18 contact sheets of Bettie Page, circa 1950s Gelatin silver contact sheets 10 x 8 inches (25.4 x 20.3 cm) (sheets) Inscribed by Eric Kroll in pencil, verso. This is a rare grouping of the images famed photographer Peter Basch took of Bettie Page in the 1950s. During his years researching and helping create a resurgence of interest in the iconic model in the 1980s, Eric Kroll sought Basch out at his home and created these contact proof images which he bound and circulated as one offs. Overall good condition. Curling to the sheets and the left edge bears binding holes from a previous book bind. Scattered hard and soft creasing to the sheets. Edge chipping and bumps to the corners.
