Oil on canvas. Signed and dated lower right. Numbered by hand “A.5.”, “172”, “6170” verso on the stretcher, with an illegible round stamp and a fragmented label from the shipping company Gustav Knauer, Berlin. 58.5 x 90 cm.

• The artist came from the famous artist family Agricola.
• Between 1830 and 1850, Agricola lived in Rome and Naples and explored the surrounding landscapes.
• Vesuvius, particularly atmospherically depicted here, was one of his favorite subjects.
