- Hugo Kaufmann's predilection for tavern scenes from Bavarian folk life finds humorous expression here. - He captured the nature of his subjects in a warm and brown tonality. - In 1871, Kaufmann moved to Munich, while Prien am Chiemsee became his main source of artistic inspiration.
