Watercolor and chalks. Monogrammed dated in the lower right, titled in the lower left. On wove paper. 55.6 x 69.1 cm. , the full sheet.

- The soft pastel tones are in harmony with the peaceful composition. - Bathing nudes are a key motif for the “Brücke” artists. - In the 1920s and 1930s, Heckel's preferred setting for his nudes was the landscape of the Baltic Sea.
The work is listed in the Erich Heckel Estate, Hemmenhofen on Lake Constance. We are grateful to Ms. Renate Ebner for her kind support in cataloging this lot.
