Unlined canvas. Slight buckling to canvas in upper right corner and along right edge, most apparent under raking light. Mild frame abrasion with associated losses at edges, most notably at left edge in lower left corner. A horizontal line of color variation, possibly retouching to address an abrasion, in upper right quadrant, approximately 14 inches in length and with no associated repair on the reverse. Some yellowing to the varnish layer. Finely patterned craquelure throughout, with a few areas of slightly more pronounced cracking. A small dot of lifting in the sky in upper left quadrant. A very few scattered small dots of minor surface abrasion and loss, the latter particularly in lower right quadrant. Surface dirt and dust. Not examined out of frame due to size. Under UV: varnish fluoresces green unevenly and appears to have been removed from some areas. Brushy retouching at edges. Retouching to aforementioned line of color variation in upper right quadrant.
