Ivan Petrovich Pavlov (1849-1936) was a Russian physiologist and psychologist who discovered classical conditioning, also known as Pavlovian conditioning. While studying digestion in dogs, Pavlov accidentally discovered that the dogs' reactions to food changed over time. He trained a hungry dog to salivate at the sound of a buzzer or metronome, which was previously associated with food. Neutral toned print on glossy (ferrotyped) mid-weight paper,trimmed to edges. Extremely shallow diagonal linear scratch/crease from lower left corner into image, and one or two other very minor surface flaws (typical of this surface), all visible in a raking light only. In very good condition. Sold unmatted and unframed.
