Painted in a typical ukiyo e style, it depicts a boat full of characters, various Edo period travelers, sarumawashi, samurai, yamabushi, merchants, a foreigner with a large hat, monk, biwa player and even two samurai trying to board a horse. It is surrounded by a blue silk brocade embroidered with gold thread in a sayagata motif composed of greciques linked to swastikas and mon composed of two tsuru facing each other.
