Joseph Jasgur (American, 1919-2009) Pat Starling (59 works), 1943 Gelatin silver prints 10 x 8 inches (25.4 x 20.3 cm) and smaller (images/sheets) Some signed and dated in pencil, mount recto. Some inscribed in pencil, and with photographer's stamps, verso. Joseph Jasgur is today best remembered as one of the earliest photographs to work professionally with a young Marilyn Monroe, and as one of the premiere cheesecake photographers in 1940s and 1950s Hollywood. Tracing directly back to the photographer's archive, this lot is comprised of a large group of pin-up images of Pat Starling, a cowgirl starlet and model of the period who worked frequently with Jasgur. Overall excellent condition. General toning to some sheets, commensurate with age. Some sheets with scattered handling creases. Edge chipping and bumps to the corners.
