EXHIBITED: [Possibly] Dallas Museum of Fine Arts, Dallas, n.d.; Salmagundi Club, New York, "Exhibition of Thumb-Box Pictures by Members," n.d. Edward Eisenlohr began his art studies with Frank Reaugh and Robert Jenkins Onderdonk. In Woodstock, he studied with Birge Harrison and at the Art Students League in New York. In 1907-1908, he went to Germany to study with Gustav Schonleber. While there he also enrolled in the Granducal Academy of Fine Arts. Upon returning, Eisenlohr devoted full time to art (he had left his position working for a Dallas bank in 1907). For the better part of the next twenty years Edward Eisenlohr and Frank Reaugh were the most accomplished artists in North Texas. Eisenlohr exhibited widely and his credits include the Pan American Exposition, San Francisco World's Fair, American Watercolor Society, Cincinnati Art Museum, Art Institute of Chicago, Corcoran Gallery of Art, National Academy of Design, Southern States Art League Circuit Exhibitions, the Edgar B. Davis Wildflower Competition, Museum of Modern Art, Oakland Art Museum, Texas Centennial Exposition, New York World's Fair, the Museum of Fine Arts Santa Fe, and museums/exhibitions across the state of Texas.
